Not everyone has a Gravatar, or wants one. Avatars lets users upload a profile picture straight to your site, and it shows up everywhere WordPress shows avatars: comments, author boxes, the toolbar and more.
Features
- Users upload a picture from their profile
- Administrators can upload or remove any user’s avatar
- A Custom avatars view on the Users screen shows who has one, and removes them in bulk
- Images are resized to your thumbnail size, and cropped if thumbnail cropping is on
- JPG, PNG and GIF are supported, and old images are deleted when replaced
- Optionally turn Gravatar off so no avatar requests leave your site
- Works across a multisite network, with each user’s avatar shown on every site
- When Profiles is installed, users upload from the front-end profile page
- When Social is installed, a new user’s social profile photo becomes their avatar
